Underlay - Glossary Term
A ¼ inch material that is placed over the floor before the finished floor material is laid. This provides a smoother more even surface, and helps to keep the heat from escaping from the floor. Also a waterproof or water-resistant roof layer that is installed on the roof deck and beneath shingles or other roof-finishing layers.
