Many people when they think access platforms think self propelled, which in itself is OK but in a lot of cases a vehicle mounted platform actually gives the better solution, for those situations when you can get decent access.
One of the key advantages of vehicle based platforms as offered by Versalift, is that you drive to site and straight on to the site, thereby enabling much quicker job to job times with no fussing about with trailers and set up.
Vehicle mounted access platforms can come in many forms, from small models offering 10.5m, such as the Versalift ET32NFXS on 4 x 4 pick ups, like the Ford Ranger (pictured). To one of the largest non insulated platforms in the Versalift range, the VST6500NF offering a 22m working height, 12m of horizontal outreach, 265kg SWL in the cage and 180o fly boom, which would be mounted on to a 15t GVW chassis of some description, commonly a Unimog or 4 x 4 truck.
Also available as an option on the Versalift range of standard machines is full low voltage insulation, compliant with VDE.0682.742 Do not confuse this with so called alternatives which don't offer protection to both aerial and ground personnel.
For those operators that work with the utility companies and perform work on or near to power lines, then the Versalift range of insulated equipment is the solution with a range of products to fit vehicles from Land Rovers to the largest Unimog, offering working heights from 12m to 23m. Some of these machines are also available with jib and winch attachments capable of lifting 450kg at the cage, which could prove useful when manipulating both equipment and larger off cuts. These machines are designed for full live line working situations meeting ANSSI A92.2 Cat C, 46KV with 69KV also available.
