Van-Mounted Access Platforms

Versalift

Greater scope to work jack-free on van-mounted platforms is now possible with the launch of Versalift’s SLP (Street Lighting Pack).

Van-mounted platform
Versalift's new SLP system responds to demand from access users for greater flexibility to work jack-free on van-mounted platforms.

The Versalift SLP allows the user to elevate the platform without deploying the van's jacks to operate within a restricted arc over the rear of the vehicle. When the operative wants to work outside this arc, the jacks can be deployed from controls in the bucket, offering full rotation. The scope of the arc during jackless operation depends on the stability of the platform/vehicle combination. As much as 60 degrees movement can be achieved on some models.

The SLP has been developed in response to customer demand, especially from the street lighting sector, for greater operational flexibility to work without jacks.

The SLP offers significant productivity benefits, especially for street lighting where positioning for work can often be achieved using limited outreach. The operator can position the bucket straight under the lamp head without having to deploy the jacks, saving valuable time on each lighting column.

Leads the way

Versalift already leads the way in the UK in van-mounts capable of working without jacks. Launched 3 years ago. the company's innovative XS range of reduced weight platforms introduced jack-free operation on 2.9 tonnes and 3.5 tonnes vans.

Steve Kellett, Versalift's Commercial Manager, said: "The ideal for any user is an access platform without the need for stabilisers. Versalift was the first to offer this with the XS range, where you have full machine function with one-person operation without the need for stabilisers. This is possible at working heights up to 10.5m and a horizontal reach up to 6m with the current range. The new SLP option now brings the benefits of jack-free operation to other models in our range, including bigger vans up to 7.5 tonnes GVW."

The SLP can be fitted as an option on Versalift's Eurotel platform range with working heights from 11.6m to 14.9m.

The current XS range includes the 9.2m w/h ET26NE XS (one person) and 10.5m w/h ET30NE XS (one person), both with 6.0m maximum outreach. A third model was added in 2004, the ET32NF XS with 10.7m working height, 5.8m horizontal outreach and the additional benefit of a 110 degree fly boom
