Versalift pushes the envelope - safely

Versalift

Versalift has developed a new load sensing system for its vehicle-mounted platforms, providing extended safe working outreach during one-person operation.

Versalift’s new load sensing system offers 14% (1m) extra safe working outreach for one person from the ET36NF platform (12.9m working height), for example.

25-936-Xtra outreach ET36NFTo date, maximum horizontal outreach has been governed by safety criteria for two people working in the bucket at 200kg Safe Working Load (SWL). Using an advanced ‘load cell’ design, Versalift’s new load sensing system improves on the accuracy and reliability of alternative methods. The new cell, located in the fly boom, allows safe working outreach to be extended by around a metre for one-person operation (120kg SWL).

The advance provides valuable extra outreach during single operator use while remaining within safety guidelines and leaving two-person outreach unaffected. The extra reach can save significant time by reducing the number of machine set-up/set-down cycles during a shift. Another advantage is that the system does not rely on stabilisers with a wide spread.

On Versalift’s Eurotel platform range (13.0m to 15.0m working height), the new load sensing system offers an extended horizontal outreach of up to 8.4m for a single operative. The two-person outreach of 7.3m (200kg SWL) is still competitive with comparable vans.

The new load sensing system is available as an option on most Versalift platform models, subject to platform/vehicle combination.
