Tensile Testing and Servo-Hydraulic Testing

Impact Laboratories Ltd

Tensile Testing and Servo-Hydraulic Testing from Impact Laboratories.

Tensile Testing

IMPACT Laboratories has a number of versatile testing machines for a variety of purposes. All machines are computer controlled and equipped with chambers capable of a -50°C to 300°C temperature range.

There is a special large frame machine with a daylight of 900mm width and 1500mm height. It has a load capacity of 100kN and is particularly suitable for testing large containers and structures.

The intermediate frame is for general purpose use. It has a daylight of 500mm width and 1300mm height with a load capacity of 100kN.

Finally, the bench scale machine has a capacity of 10kN and is ideally suited for light use.

Our servo-hydraulic testing machine is capable of testing at speeds of up to 5m/s with a load capacity of 10kN. It has an adjustable crosshead allowing a maximum daylight area of 500mm width and 800mm height. In addition, there is an environmental chamber capable of temperatures between -150°C and +250°C.

This brings wide versatility and examples of applications include (i) dart penetration tests (ISO 603) at temperature, (ii) assessment of Charpy ductile-brittle temperatures, (iii) high speed tensile tests and (iv) compressive energy absorption tests for crash padding.

Fatigue cycling is also possible between frequencies of 0.Hz and 10Hz using sinusoidal, square and triangular waveforms.
