Uptime Guaranteed on Cummins Stage IIIA Engines in Europe

Cummins Inc.

Announced at the Pre-Bauma event in January, Cummins Uptime Guarantee program starts on May 1, 2007.

It covers Cummins QSB, QSC, QSL, QSM and QSX Stage 3A engines placed in service in EU countries until April 30, 2008. This program will give assurance to the construction industry in the products and support provided by Cummins. Maximising equipment availability and minimising downtime continue to be key issues facing operators. The concept of compensating operators for out of service downtime is relatively unknown in Europe. Cummins has significant experience in this area having run a successful Uptime Guarantee for Tier 3 industrial products in North America.

Under the program, if a Cummins Stage IIIA engine can't be repaired within 48 hours from fault diagnosis, the customer will receive a parts and service credit worth Eu500 (£350). To qualify, an engine must be registered with Cummins on line (www.cummins.com) no later than six weeks after being placed into service and before any claim is made. For further details, operators should contact their local Cummins distributor.

"Uptime Guarantee programs have proved extremely successful for Cummins in North America, and we are now adapting this for Europe," said Mr. Hugh Foden, Cummins Executive Director - Engine Business. "No one else offers anything like the Uptime Guarantee because no one else has the confidence of Cummins - in the dependability of our engines - and the skill and speed of our parts and service team. Our Stage IIIA engines are proven, tested and highly reliable. We are launching this program to give our customers the added confidence that they can rely on Cummins support when purchasing equipment powered by our engines," he added.
