OTR Wheel Engineering can now supply solid rubber mold-on wheels for all brands of construction paving equipment. The rubber used has a specialoil and heat-resistant compound which includes neoprene, nitrile rubber, hot styrene-butadiene rubber and natural rubber. The high percentage of Neoprene and Nitrile included gives the heat and oil resistance. This allows the wheels to outperform in the rugged conditions of asphalt paving.
These wheels can easily fit with a friction drive undercarriage common to most paving machines. The set of roller wheels is set on three oscillating bogie wheels secured by a wide steel reinforced rubber track, the tension of which can be maintained by an automatic hydraulic track tension system.
With the recent stimulus package in the United States to create more funds for the country's infrastructure, OTR recognizes that the availability of these mold-on wheels gives the road contractors more opportunities to purchase paving machines from an assortment of equipment manufacturers.
Typical paving machines are powerful rubber track pavers made and designed especially for highway work applications. An additional advantage is that the noise levels of these pavers are among the lowest in the industry thanks to variable speed fans.
Typical construction pavers feature anti-segregation design of the feed tunnel, the feed tunnel discharge, and the rear augers.
