The arrival of the new Hitachi Zaxis short-tail mini-excavator began in 2005 with the introduction of the ZX30U-2. This compact machine has already proved a popular extension to the range throughout Europe.
Hitachi is now expanding its line-up in this category with the launch of the ZX10U-2, ZX17U-2 and ZX22U-2. The new models will be unveiled to the public for the first time at Bauma.
The use of mini-excavators has traditionally been the solution for confined spaces. However, the development of short and zero tail-swing excavators has provided an alternative option in such restricted working conditions.
Hitachi engineers have used their vast experience and expertise to develop the ZaxisU-2 models, which combine the best of both product lines in one versatile package.
The series has been fitted with powerful - yet economical - and durable engines to maximise productivity on any job site. The new engines have been fitted with larger exhaust capacities to meet the latest emission regulations and noise suppression and ROPS/FOPS standards.
Each model has been designed with stability, durability, ease of maintenance, and operator comfort in mind.
