Full Notch Creep TestFull Notch Creep Test

The Full Notch Creep Test (ISO 16770) is an accelerated test used to assess the resistance of a polymer to slow crack growth in a chosen environment. A moulded bar is notched on 4 sides and subjected to a static load whilst submerged in a suitable environment. Resistance to crack growth is recorded as time to failure. Test conditions and environments can vary but typical conditions are shown below.

  • Moulding grades Pipe grades
  • Sample Geometry 6x6x90mm 10x10x100mm
  • Notch depth 1.0mm 1.47mm
  • Temperature 23°C, 50°C 80°C
  • Stress level 12.0MPa, 9.0MPa 4MPa
  • Environment 10% Igepal 2%Arkopal
