Atlas Copco Construction Tools

Atlas Copco ProCare™ is a system of service contracts for hydraulic breakers warranting a maximum availability of the equipment at predictable costs, the services being tailored to the customer’s individual needs and requirements.

The Atlas Copco ProCare™ concept blends different servicing and maintenance tasks to a custom-made service package. Customers e.g. benefit from:

  • A regular service according to the manufacturer’s specifications to reduce the number of unscheduled equipment downtimes.
  • Preventive inspections to reduce the maintenance costs.
  • Atlas Copco and the service partners keep the required infrastructure at the customer’s disposal so that he can focus his attention on the core business.
  • A regular maintenance and service maintain the value of the hydraulic breaker and keep the resale value at a high level.

An extension of the warranty of the main components.

Three Atlas Copco ProCare™ contracts are on offer: the elementary service contract which can be compared with an inspection contract, the service contract plus devised for hydraulic attachments subject to normal wear and tear and the full-service contract for large units operating under backbreaking conditions.

The latter contract has for example been concluded for the world’s biggest hydraulic breaker, the HB 10000 ProCarein operation in the Oslo region where the railway line to Oslo’s new Gardemoen airport is being extended to shift the growing traffic volume from the road to the rail.

The job requires some 71,000 m3 of tough and distantly jointed rock to be removed over a distance of 900 m. The customer Hegna Maskin AS from Notodden has to meet a tight schedule and is dependent on the productivity of his hydraulic breaker.

A valuable asset is the Atlas Copco ProCareTMcontract,“ says Jon Erik Hegna, proprietor and excavator operator of Hegna Maskin AS. „We have a clear idea of the operating cost of our equipment and profit from the know-how of the Atlas Copco people who are planning and carrying out the service and maintenance..“ For Tom Erik Larsen, Business Line Manager of Atlas Copco Norway, too, the contract offers a lot of advantages: „We are working proactively and the service contract gives us the opportunity to plan the hydraulic breaker service in the most optimum manner. Because in the end it is in our own interest to secure maximum productivity to our customers.”
