Corus to lead the debate at Interbuild 2006 Construction Exhibition

Interbuild

Corus is inviting the building industry to visit the UK's premier construction exhibition, Interbuild 2006, to take a look at the breadth and innovation it is able to offer.

Its diverse product range enables Corus to deliver steel for structural and roofing applications through to specialised, cladding systems, pre-finished steels and high-tech building components.

Corus' stand at Interbuild 2006 will showcase a range of new and existing products with specialists from the company on hand to discuss issues relating to the use of steel in building. Many of its specialist products will be used in the construction of the stand including structural steel, roofing and envelope systems. In addition, Corus will also be hosting a programme of seminars and debates on key issues in design and construction.

Interbuild 2006 returns to the NEC from April 23-27 and will feature leading edge construction companies and innovative products from the UK and all over the world.

Murray Bean, Director of Solutions at Corus, said: "It is a very exciting time at Corus. We are bringing to the market a wide range of products that are innovative, broaden design horizons and can increase performance in construction.

"We want to let people know exactly how Corus can add value to steel and how we can deliver solutions to design and construction challenges as a company. In fact, Corus can deliver almost every part of a building that can be constructed out of steel."

The Corus seminars at Interbuild 2006 are free to attend on a first come, first served basis and will be held on the stand. Each day will feature three sessions, the first at 10am on innovation, a 12.30pm lunchtime debate on key industry challenges and a 3pm Steel Talk, where a specialist will outline the future of steel in construction.

Corus products being showcased at Interbuild 2006 include Celsius 355 Ovals, an expansion on the range of Celsius Hot Finished Structural Hollow Sections (SHS) by adding a range of elliptical sections. The Celsius 355 Ovals range extends the choice available for designers and allows a greater aesthetic expression in exposed steel tubes in buildings coupled with excellent technical qualities.

The company is also launching the Veil product at Interbuild 2006, a new type of cladding that uses the innovative Kazlip standing seam system. The perforated nature of Veil enables buildings to be subtly cloaked and can be used on new build and the refurbishment of existing properties - bringing uniformity to the building which is barely visible behind the veil.

Interbuild Construction ExhibitionVisitors to the stand will be able to see more of Corus' innovative new modular roofing system, Hi-Point - a robust roofing system, which is quicker and safer to install than the traditional timber and tile alternative. The modular roof structure is made from Corus light steel, which is pre-assembled on the ground and can be clad with a range of roofing materials.

The bespoke modular roof units are assembled on site and then lifted and secured in place, significantly reducing health and safety risks on site since very little work had to be carried out at height. Corus will also be demonstrating its capabilities in fire engineering, distribution and rail, plus light steel residential solutions.

Interbuild Event Director Gordon Thomas said: "We've worked harder than ever to bring back the big brands, that visitors really want to see, and make Interbuild a major destination for everyone involved in all aspects of construction. Corus' involvement in the show is the perfect example of this."
