Airport Architecture BluePrint

The extension is based on the dimensions and shapes, allready utilized in the existing terminal, but the colors and materials have been adapted to current trends. The new buildings are clearly recognizable as belonging to the later generation of terminals.

Elements of the new design in the existing building to revitalize them and hands preserve the compactness of all the buildings. The aim is to create holistic airport architecture that meets the requirements for identity.

Airport Architecture

The concept layout follows close the tendered requirements to meet the employer's demand. It is showed in the siteplan the author of this design could imagine, that an alternate layout for the direction of the pier could provide several advantages to the tendered layout.

Airport Architecture

Reduced occupancy of apron space, better protection of the tower area and landside from noise and blast, better security conditions and perhaps expansion to the north-east in the stage of the second runway and double-taxiway-link are some unapproved aspects to discuss in a later stage of design.

Airport Architecture

The basic design modifies a little the proposed figuration of aircraft stands to avoid passenger queue in the north-west end of the pier and the necessarity of push-back movements in the direction of a further double-taxiway-link between the runways.

Airport Architecture

The concept encludes daylight and landscaping elements even in the basement level. Dedicated areas are reserved for short-term parking adjacent to departure and arrival level. Traffic flow organization and easy use provisions are visible from the concept drawings and will become optimized in the design stage, e.g. the road junctions to the future New Highway North of the railroad.
