Atlas Copco has improved the LP 13-20 DE power pack by replacing the engine with a new and more efficient Lombardini 15 LD series diesel engine.
This engine is more modern and has better air cooling than the engine used in the previous model, thus enhancing its performance.
This new version, called the LP 13-20 DEL, also provides less of a load on the engine when working with demanding tools such as heavy-weight handheld hydraulic breakers. The tubular stainless frame is now mounted in rubber suspensions to give it a longer lifetime, and to reduce fatigue from the vibrations of the diesel engine. The chassis, which is integrated with the tank and fan housing, has also been reinforced to withstand better the vibrations and load from the engine.
"We expect high demand for this power pack from markets such as India and the Middle East where diesel is preferred, and also countries where the higher cooling is needed to operate heavy duty breakers such as the LH 27 - LH 40" says Jan Byrresen, Product Line Manager for handheld hydraulic equipment. He continues; "Tunnelling jobs and other types of poor ventilated areas often demand or only accept diesel, so that is another segment where this power pack will be very suitable to use." It will not be sold on the European market.
As with all other power packs in the Atlas Copco range, the PL 13-20 DEL has solid rubber wheels and foldable handles for easy transportation.
